My childhood best friend had this. It is mostly in boys. His older brother had it and passed at 18. His sister (the middle child) was fine. Then my friend (the youngest) passed at 20.

My son was diagnosed with Spinocerebellar Ataxia 19/22 last month. DMD was my suspicion but they are similar. Usually with my son’s type it’s slowly progressive but he’s 4 and extremely symptomatic and outside the usual onset. We don’t know how long he has.
