I remember my step dad had to hold me with all his might at coney island bc I was about to fly off the thunderbolt roller coaster stop trusting teens to make sure your safe in a roller coaster

Not really. Clamshell restraints are some of the safest type of restraints out there. They have either hydraulic locking systems, ratcheted type and some even have both types. I’m honestly going to be interested to see what the investigation shows, did an employee override the warnings or did it give no warnings at all.

I generally avoid rollercoasters with these..I do all the upside down coasters as long as there's over head restraints

Funny thing is, lap bars are actually safer than shoulder restraints cause they hold you at your center of gravity. Shoulder restraints just feel safer from a psychological standpoint

Didnt change my opinion on lap bars, just six flags. 3 ejections from roller coasters in the US over the past 25 years: Superman at New England, New Texas Giant at Over Texas, and now Goliath in Georgia. All occurred at six flags parks

they dont scare me as in scared for my life but I dont really enjoy rollercoasters as much without a shoulder bar. I dont like the airtime feeling

like at the very least more rollercoasters need to have MULTIPLE measures as a failsafe. like why is there ONLY the lap bar. give me a seatbelt and a lap bar. or an overhead and a harness. etc
