it's the effect of terrible govt policies.. some of you will vote incompetence for tribe but it'll come back to bite you. the biggest problem today is cost of production, very high cost of feed. imagine you spend half the amount you currently do on feed , you can equally afford to sell half of what you sell now

we are greedy in Nigeria, a price of egg in India is 83 naira if you convert to naira. and that's in their supermarkets ooo. but here in Nigeria it's 200 naira while supermarket is 300 naira.....
meaning I can import egg from india, half a ship and sell for 170 naira and still make profit

our cost of production is always higher due to lack of proper infrastructure to run things easier and cheaper.
starting with logistics and energy.

Let me advice you as a business man. Imported chicken are produced on a large scale with mechanisation and technology. Nigerian farmers do not have access to that and it will definitely increase their cost of production. If you want to why theirs are cheaper look at their cost of production and if you want to produce cheaper than imported ones look at your costs and see how you can reduce it to the nearest minimum. Also find a way to determine the quality of the imported chicken compared to the ones produced locally. I'm a pharmacist and I've produced medicines locally which are way cheaper than imported ones.

they are bringing leftover/waste to Nigeria, they can never bring orobo chest meat to Nigeria. the chicken laps and turkey finger they are bringing to Nigeria has little of no market value in their country of origin

Godstime :
is because your feeds are likely imported thereby making them expensive. if the feeds are produced here, because of lack of stable power supply, the cost of production will be high and their poultry is bigger and complete(they hatch, make their own feeds and highly automated)

I think what we get as imported frozen chicken is parents stock, mostly broiler parents stock, that's why it's cheap, if u do your research very well u will see that they also 6 weeks but we don't get it as imported chicken, that's my own conclusions sha

Cost of production is very high in Nigeria, feed are expensive and other things compare to other countries. If government didn’t protect businesses with some level of restrictions some manufacturers and businesses will shut down
