i work at a vet hospital. every single time anyone comes in saying that they feed their dog that food, i tell them to stop and slowly transition to one of the top 3 brands.

For the first year Farmers Dog seemed to be great for us, and then the mucus poop started, followed by GI issues and then pancreatitis.

My dog nearly passed away in 2024 after putting her on Farmers Dog. They never figured out the cause, they just said it was an “unknown toxin”. She now has chronic kidney disease.

Okay wait… we switched our dog to farmers dog 3 years ago as she was very over weight, her coat wasn’t great and she had no energy- now she’s at perfect weight, her coat is AMAZING, she has so much energy, and all her vet appointments go great, they’ve never said anything negative about farmers dog.

My dog was in it for years. He had pancreatitis really bad over the summer. He is now on hills low fat diet. It was super scary and life threatening. Very expensive to treat as well.

I’m so confused. My dog is going on 19 years old has been on farmers dog and he’s totally fine. As you can see; he’s 19 and still alive and healthy.

My dog's been on it for two years and has never had a problem. If anything, she was overweight, and now she’s at her perfect weight. She’s 7 years old and still acts like a puppy when we take her out. Also, we haven’t had to go to the vet for any problems. Just my experience.

THIS IS HAPPENED TO MY DOG. she started getting stomach aches, diarrhea(b100d), vvommitting and had to go to the vet numerous times until i switched. i now cook batches of food at home for her. this was happening just last year!

fresh pet which is very very similar, caused my yorkipoo to have seizures and now she’s on medication for the rest of her life. unfortunately i didn’t know and the seizures started when she was only 1💔

we fed our dogs farmers dog for years without issue BUT i also did a ton of research and ultimately decided for me, it was more calories and fat content than i felt comfortable feeding our little dogs. i’ve since changed their diet and feel so much better about it. to each their own, there are definitely worse things out there than farmers dog BUT for what they charge people- i think they could do better. maybe high calories and fat wouldn’t be as alarming for big dogs but we have shih tzus so it was a no from me

We give our dogs one of the top 3 brands of kibble. Plus we have an appliance we bought specifically just to make their foods. Best thing we ever got!

Yep, that and fresh pet. My dog had kidney stones from eating those two and the vet said she was the 4th shed seen in a month with some sort of issue from those foods

This is 100% true. Our dog was on it for around two years and battled with GI issues. We never attributed it to his food- we kept being told it could be allergies / sensitive stomach. No vet ever warned us about his food. It got worse and worse and eventually he had large amounts of blood in his stool. He developed pancreatitis and was hospitalized. It was awful. We finally met a vet a year ago who immediately told us to get him off of farmers dog. His stomach issues completely disappeared once we weaned him off of it. It’s sad because the whole time we were believed we were feeding him something nutritious, and we couldn’t have been more wrong.
