@winningstride: 💔 Heartbreaking News: Ewing Has Passed Away at Just 3 Years Old According to multiple reports, including the Paulick Report, Thoroughbred Daily News, and the Albany Times Union, Ewing, the talented son of Knicks Go and winner of the 2025 Saratoga Special (G2), has tragically passed away following an accident in Florida. Co-owner Griffin Johnson announced the heartbreaking news on October 13, explaining that Ewing was transitioning into a second career after retirement from racing when he suffered a fatal accident involving a fence at trainer Mark Casse’s facility in Ocala. Ewing burst onto the racing scene at Saratoga on July 5, 2025, winning his debut by an incredible 12 lengths. Less than a month later, he returned to capture the Saratoga Special (G2) under Jose Ortiz, becoming the first graded stakes winner for his sire, Knicks Go. His early performances gave racing fans plenty of reasons to be excited about his future. Sadly, that future was cut far too short. What makes this especially heartbreaking is that Ewing was beginning a new chapter beyond the racetrack. At only 3 years old, he should have had many more years ahead of him. Our thoughts are with his owners, trainer, caretakers, and everyone who loved and worked with him. Rest easy, Ewing. Your time with us was short, but you will not be forgotten. 🐎💔 #Ewing #Saratoga #ThoroughbredRacing #HorseRacing #WinningStride
