Scripture reveals one God, yet the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are personally distinguished. Scripture also speaks of man in terms of spirit, soul, and body. However, we should make one important correction to the illustration: the Trinity should not be explained by saying that God is divided into three parts like man's spirit, soul, and body. The Father is fully God, the Son is fully God, and the Holy Spirit is fully God. They are distinct Persons, yet there is one God. 📖 1 Corinthians 8:6 📖 2 Corinthians 13:14 📖 Ephesians 4:4–6 Likewise, Romans 8:16 does not simply define the human spirit as a “God connection.” It says: “The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God.” From a Dispensational perspective, our doctrine concerning our present position and blessings should be grounded especially in the revelation given through Paul for the Body of Christ. 1️⃣ PERSONS OF THE GODHEAD 📖 2 Corinthians 13:14 Paul distinctly mentions: the Lord Jesus Christ, God, and the Holy Ghost. One God—yet personal distinctions within the Godhead. A. THE FATHER — PURPOSES 📖 Ephesians 1:3–5 The Father is presented as the One who purposes according to His will. Our spiritual blessings originate in God's eternal purpose. “…according to the good pleasure of his will.” The plan of redemption did not originate with man. It originated in God. B. THE SON — PURCHASES 📖 Ephesians 1:7 “In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins…” What the Father purposed, Christ accomplished through His finished crosswork. Salvation is not achieved by religion, ordinances, law-keeping, or human merit. Christ paid the price. C. THE SPIRIT — PRESERVES 📖 Ephesians 1:13–14 “…ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise.” The Holy Spirit seals the believer after hearing and believing the Gospel.
