@crystalsshoes: Here is a slow-motion look at my release. Honestly, I need to get onto the lanes because practicing timing at home is virtually impossible! 😭 I’m nearly 40 days into mastering the yoyo release and have spent ungodly hours studying bowling content. I’ve probably seen every recommendation out there, but if you happen to know a legit home drill specifically for timing, let me know I’m all ears.
I really wish bowlers would stop trying to emulate this.....

Everyone in the comments started somewhere. Critiquing someone who just started actually demonstrates lack of knowledge of the sport. ITS A PROGRESSION. No one was an overnight success here.

The elbow needs to release before the wrist. When the wrist releases before the elbow it causes you to come around and over top of the ball; it also is far less efficient for energy transfer.

no thank you. Don't need the extra stress on the elbow and bicep

my best tip is try to delay the cup of the wrist and elbow a little longer to prevent the wrist collapsing at release.

See how your wrist opens all the way at the top? Then you just dont have enough time to get your hand in a strong position under the ball. Your back of the hand to the forearm shouldnt go any further than a flat line. Not cupping, but not broken wrist. Also see your swing plane, the ball should come back under the head/shoulder

Looks really good. Your release is probably better than mine. No comment coaching from me this time. Keep it up

You need to think of it as more of a figure 8 not a yo-yo I do the same thing naturally once I switched the mindset stuff started clicking hope it helps! No hate all love from a coach to a student❤️

Nice, that feels good,
Next, at the lowest point of your swing, keep the ball low relative to the floor—just high enough to barely graze the floor—
and gently and carefully roll it horizontally about one or two ball lengths toward the back of the lane,
without scraping it up with your fingers; just let it roll.

That take away is a circular motion won’t be accurate.

Um that’s not it . Your wrist is not strong enough to try to get it into a strong position on the way down. I love how enthusiastic you are about getting a yo-yo release but you also shouldn’t be taking any advice from these common sections and keep working on your game. And the yo-yo release is overrated. It’s really gonna hurt your game.
