I get tattooed twice a month in 2-3 hour sessions. I always pay for 2 hours and my artist actively goes for 2.5-3.5 hours every time. I almost never tip but I show my appreciation in other ways, I bought him a ps5 one year, and actively grab him something here and there if anything reminds me or him.

nah i have a great relationship with my tattoo artist & love to tip. he kept me at 175 when he started pricing newer clients at 250-300. ive gone to him for years. when the years are good, i tip well. when they’re not - i tip okay. i make sure to price in my tip when im figuring out a session.

I do. I’m aware and don’t care if it’s basically into the price up front. I still want to show my appreciation for their time and work. My artist will charge the same whether it’s for 8 hours or 15 hours. And considering she always goes well over 8, least I can do.

I have a rule for myself. The shop i go to has flash events like many other shops. I dont tip on the little pieces I get at the flash events but tip well for the actual appointments I make
