RIVERS STATE: Yesterday, Naija Confra posted a video showing DNKI (Vikings) cultists practising cultism inside a police station in Abuloma, after renovating the facility. The video was widely shared and went viral. Today, the Rivers State Police Command relieved the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in charge of Abuloma Division and the officer overseeing the Abuloma Police Outpost of their duties pending investigation. The Rivers State Commissioner of Police, CP Olugbenga A. Adepoju, has also ordered a full investigation into the matter, and the Command condemned attempts by cult groups to gain recognition or influence through police facilities. Nigerians can now see that ending cult violence requires collective action. Many bloggers, media outlets, celebrities, and influential voices are on the Naija Confra platform, yet many fail to repost videos of k**lings and violence that continue to claim lives daily. They only pick the funny videos or content that may earn them money, while ignoring other important issues. If everyone consistently shared the violent videos, £vil acts of cultism, and pressured leaders to act, meaningful changes could come faster. If you only share content that benefits you, one day, the problem you ignore could reach your own doorstep. Naija Confra cannot do it alone. To cultists and cult groups still carrying out projects in police stations: stay away from our security institutions, or risk public disgrace. Security personnel who welcome cult groups into their institutions should also take note: there will be consequences. While we appreciate the Rivers State Police Command for its action in this case, we also urge them and the state government to start taking good care of their facilities so that cultists will not have to do it for them. Reject Cultism.
