@nisa.estate: This works the same if the house is in the wife's name and it's the husband who's left behind. A nikah performed abroad and legally registered there is usually recognised here; this is about nikah-only marriages in the UK. A partner who lived with you for at least two years can ask a court for reasonable provision, but it's slow, costly and it's against your relatives. There's also the tax side. Married couples get something called the spousal exemption, which means a husband or wife who's legally recognised can leave the other any amount with no inheritance tax at all. A nikah-only partner doesn't get it, so tax can apply on the first death to anything left to them above the tax-free allowances. Registering the marriage removes that first bill. How much it matters depends on the size of the estate. England and Wales. Free 30-minute Clarity Call, link in bio. #nikah #islamicmarriage #familyhome #estateplanninguk #creatorsearchinsights
every muslim man fear allah fear allah fear allah you will be questioned how you treated your wife and kids. do not take this as joke or time pass. take this as a warning ⚠️. one day soon you will have to answer to Allah. Put your wife name half in your wife name. and make a will and all kids including daughter's not only sons but daughters too.

I remember my 52 year old aunt was Islamically married for 22 years to her husband. He couldn’t have kids but she still stayed with him. He died at 54 with a tumour. His sister and nephew took the house 😳 she was 52 years old and had to start from scratch. Luckily for her, she was a teacher so was able to get back on her feet eventually. But she was devastated. Imagine having to work 4 months after your husband dies just to pay rent and for the funeral debt 😳😳😳

Islamically it goes to the heirs children first wife gets less than the children. A will doesn’t change the Islamic ruling for inheritance
