spanish croquetas 🇪🇸
I really did think that I would be able to read a cookbook written entirely in spanish when I bought it in Madrid over the summer. I got home and realized, no my seven years of middle and high school Spanish was not enough. So I thought it would be fun to use my new @raybanmeta glasses to translate the recipes for me into English. All I had to do was point the Ray-Ban Meta glasses at the recipe, snap a picture, and the glasses would then translate everything on the page. The Ray-Ban Meta glasses were also a nice companion to have when I was rolling croquetas for 45 minutes. We learned a lot about each other 😊 I’m so excited to be able to buy cookbooks in so many more language knowing I have my Ray-Ban Meta glasses to translate them for me 📚 #RayBanMetaPartner RECIPE (adapted) 1. Heat 1 cup of heavy cream and 3 1/4 cup milk in a medium saucepan over medium heat until simmering. Reduce heat to low. 2. Meanwhile, in a dutch oven or pot, heat 5 tbsp butter over medium heat until melted. Add 1/2 chopped onion and saute until tender. Add 1 cup flour and cook, stirring with a whisk for 1 minute. 3. Slowly whisk in the heated milk mixture into the flour mixture. Heat until the mixture has become very thick. Season with 2 tsp kosher salt and lots of black pepper. Then fold in 4 oz chopped iberico ham. Pour onto a baking sheet and cover with plastic wrap. Refrigerate until set, about 1 hour. 4. Use a 2 tbsp ice cream scoop and scoop balls of the béchamel mixture. Dredge them in flour, beaten egg, and then panko breadcrumbs. 5. Heat a couple inches of oil in a pot over medium high heat. Once at 350F, fry several croquettes until golden, about 3 to 5 minutes. Transfer to a paper towel lined wire rack and season with flaky salt. Repeat with all remaining croquettes. . . . .
