check his tape against yours. it's either incompetence or a tape discrepancy. my bosses tape and mine were 1/2 off once, different brands and size of tape measure can be that much off. we checked ours every time we replaced them after that.

I’ve only fucked up a couple times and never once had to worry about it granted if it’s some trim boards from the supplier then yeah we triple checking our measurements before cutting, but a 2x4 once maybe twice isn’t that bad after that I’d understand
