@rickythesteadyinvestor: 🧪 3X vs. 2X vs. THE S&P 500 — WHICH ONE WON? 🚀 Want to run your OWN investing experiments? Comment “LABS” and I’ll send you the link to join the FREE early-access waitlist for Steady Investor Labs! You can also sign up through my Stan.store link in bio or visit steadyinvestorlabs.com. SO I RAN ANOTHER EXPERIMENT. After the response to my 2X S&P 500 and 3X Nasdaq experiments, you asked me to test UPRO — the ETF designed to deliver THREE TIMES the DAILY return of the S&P 500. So using historical data for Steady Investor Labs, I tested three investments: 📊 $10,000 in the S&P 500 (1X) 📈 $10,000 in SSO (2X daily leverage) 🚀 $10,000 in UPRO (3X daily leverage) We went back to 2009, reinvested dividends, and held through the end of 2025. But here’s what makes this experiment fascinating… 3X DAILY leverage does NOT mean 3X annual returns. And when markets crash, the downside can be absolutely brutal. So did taking on that additional risk actually pay off over the long run? Watch to find out. 🔬 WHY I’M BUILDING STEADY INVESTOR LABS I’ve received hundreds of requests for different investing experiments, and I’m going to keep making these videos. But I also want YOU to be able to test your own ideas, compare strategies against the S&P 500, and save your favorite scenarios. That’s exactly what we’re building at steadyinvestorlabs.com. 💬 Comment “LABS” for the FREE early-access waitlist link! 🔗 Or sign up through my Stan.store link in bio. And as always, stay steady. 💛 Historical returns are not guarantees of future performance. Leveraged ETFs reset daily and carry significant risks. #PersonalFinance #SteadyInvestorLabs #Investing #SP500 #etf

Buying a leverage etf is for rookies. Buying calls on a 3x etf is where it’s at.

The answer is no one would hold through a downturn. Hypothetical is always way different than reality. Most would bail without leverage. Don’t mess around with 3x funds.

This is biased by having an incredible bull market over the past 5 years. You should repeat this but average the results for each fund over all possible 10 year holding periods from 2009 to current. Also repeat for 5 year.

But if you hold, you 10x, and yes, you hold or avg down cause it’s the most popular index that in reality, only trends up

I keep 20% of my funds in cash for when there’s drawdowns, and that helps me hold when that happens (although there hasn’t been a big one). I wonder if there is an easy way to model that? What do you use to do these backtests? Thanks for the content!

I would hold up to 10 percent in 3x and keep 5-10 percent in cash waiting for a big crash.

Security is an important component of managing digital investments. Strong authentication, careful account management, and transaction monitoring can reduce avoidable risks.
