In a landmark achievement for gender integration and military advancement in the Horn of Africa, the Federal Republic of Somalia has officially promoted Halima Maryan Lahaga to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel in the Somali Armed Forces (SNA). The historic elevation marks the first time a female officer has attained the rank of lieutenant colonel within the nation's armed forces, representing a major institutional milestone for female leadership across the country's defense and security architecture. Observers and defense analysts note that while women have increasingly taken up critical roles in national police, intelligence, and civil protection services, this unprecedented military promotion shatters a longstanding glass ceiling in the regular armed forces, signaling modernizing reforms and opening vital command pathways for the next generation of Somali women in uniform. #fyp #viral #somalitiktok #southafricatiktok🇿🇦 #nigeriantiktok🇳🇬
