@needfoodwilltravel: Quick impromptu lunch stop at the Michelin Started Gramercy Tavern. The space felt like a family friendly steakhouse. Not fancy, not basic, just mid. We were seated at the bar, which had comfy seats and a good view of the space. We caught a shift change, so we ended up with two bartenders, the first which was was signifanctly friendlier than the last, but both very professional. But, we're here for the food so, lets get into it. Since it was a lunch, we didnt order much. We split a pasta dish and THE burger. I say THE burger, because apparently theyre known for it. We weren't wowed. It was a decent burger, solid all around, but nothing very special. And it came with, what appeared to be, home made chips, as in potato chips (or crisps to some), and they were terribly greasy. We left them on the plate, untouched, without any inquiry from the server, which seemed like it would have tripped a query at the very least. The ricotta cavatelli was the star of the show. It was delicious. Theres two menus here, The Tavern, and the dinner menu. Maybe the dinner menu is where they shine, because Overall, 7/10 for us.
