If GTA 6 genuinely discards the series' parody and commentary roots and goes all in on pointless realism and makes Jason and Lucia just a basic modern day Bonnie & Clyde then we lost more than we gained. I don't care about the fact that you invented new tech to see every wrinkle on a strippers booty everytime she twerks, I want to know how the narrative team faced the challenge of satirizing modern america when modern america feels like a parody of itself.

GTA has always been a fairly accurate game to where it’s set in. I don’t understand this argument. It’s how they get their satire off. GTA IV you’re in the shoes of an immigrant in their version of NYC/NJ. GTA V you’re smack dab in their version of LA county. San Andreas California in the 90’s. It’s what makes GTA’s commentary so unique

Video games are an incredible medium for portraying stories and feelings in ways that other media cannot. That being said, it’s also a profit driven industry and large studios like rockstar will put profit above portraying vulnerable communities in a respectful and meaningful way. At the end of the day they’re concerned about broad appeal to audience that isn’t really concerned about the nuances of a story.

I feel like a lot of the GTA games parody more than just American concepts but actively just make fun of America. Donald love is just Donald Trump, In most of the games you have a mission working for the government to commit some form of espionage. The GTA games are so inherently political. if they choose to be apolitical with the new game, it's not GTA, it's Just saints row but less funny
