We did the same thing, stopped buying for each & focused on the kids for a few years. Now that the kids are older we're back to buying each other gifts . Nothing crazy, but I put things in his Amazon cart & he puts things in mine. We don't get EVERYTHING, but this way we get what we want & it's still a surprise. 😊
