@my_itchy_feet: There’s something magical about walking through a European-style town while snowflakes gently fall around you. ✨💜 During our December visit to Huis Ten Bosch in Sasebo, Nagasaki, we discovered this beautiful canal bridge surrounded by Dutch-inspired buildings, glowing streetlights, and peaceful winter scenery. The reflections on the water, the charming brick bridge, and the festive atmosphere made us feel as though we had stepped into a little town in the Netherlands. 🏘️❄️ 🌉 A Little History This picturesque spot is known as Megane Bridge (めがね橋), meaning Eyeglasses Bridge in Japanese. The name comes from the way a bridge’s arches and their reflections in the water can resemble a pair of eyeglasses. Nagasaki is also home to the famous historic Megane Bridge in Nagasaki City, built in 1634 and celebrated as one of Japan’s oldest stone arch bridges. The bridge at Huis Ten Bosch is a separate attraction within the Dutch-themed park, which opened in 1992 to recreate the atmosphere of a traditional Dutch town. And seeing this charming place during our snowy December visit made the experience even more unforgettable. 💕 Sometimes, the most magical travel memories are found in the quietest corners. ❄️✨ 📍 Megane Bridge (めがね橋) Huis Ten Bosch, Sasebo City, Nagasaki Prefecture, Japan 🇯🇵 #ItchyFeetJourneyJP #HuisTenBosch #MeganeBridge #NagasakiJapan #winterinjapan
