There is a difference between knowing a man of God personally and becoming so familiar with him that you can no longer receive from the spiritual dimension of his ministry. Familiarity is not simply knowing someone's personality, weaknesses, habits, or history. The danger begins when what you know about the person becomes a reason to dismiss what God may be communicating through them. You can know someone's humanity so well that you become blind to the spiritual gift God has placed upon their life.
