yes you can shoot someone if they hit you however you have to be able to prove that the amount of force you used was necessary to neutralize that threat so in other words if he's literally trying to beat you to death you have the right to put him down however if he just punches you a couple times and then stops and you have no right to fire

eh, if someone throws one punch, then more incoming is a reasonable expectation, which does lead to fear of serious injury and/or death. so if I fear for my safety-life... ijs it's not a black and white situation in Tennessee. gimme your wallet followed by a punch in the face tells a different story
