My mother’s best friend since grade school. Her grandson passed at 14 after his whole life he was paralyzed from the brain stem being severed. My mother flew out to Tennessee to hold her while she sobbed and helped her hold it together for the funeral I’ve only met Brantley once. I was a kid as was he. But I miss you Brantley. I’ll never forget you <3

My now husband came over to my house the moment he found out and then slept in his car in the driveway for a week because I was still a teenager at the time and my parents didn’t allow boys over and even though my dad had passed away he didn’t want to even try to come in the house or stay the night. He’s just like I’ll stay in the car, but I’ll be here if you need me.

My mom didn’t cry until her best friend got there. She just melted when she saw her. It was 25 years ago and I remember it like it was yesterday

I watched my moms best friend say goodbye to her as my mom was dying. she held her and kissed her hands and eyes. she talked to her and told her she would take care of the kids even though we are grown. she has. that woman is more family than any.

I found out my dad died at work. you could hear me scream through the office. our admin assistant knew my husband and called him immediately. he was 30 minutes away, made it in ten and bypassed all security protocols to get to me.

My mom and I have never had a good relationship, but she called me when her sister died. I rushed to her house and that’s when she broke down. I had to hold her hair back because she couldn’t stop throwing up. People help the people.

I remeber the day my mama died. We were 15. My childhood best friend was on a weekend with her dad and I called her and could barely talk. She was 45 minutes away. She hung up and told Dad they had to go it’s chars mom. He got her there in 25. The second she got out the car and walked up that sidewalk I fell into her as we both cried. It was raining. I can never explain how she helped me through that time in my life. She saved me. I love my Emi.

Me and my old best friend don’t talk much anymore, life just kept us apart. During our friendship, my sister passed, she was the first one to come see me🥹 9 years later, I’ll always be grateful for her in that moment, she’ll always be a friend I’ll cherish ❤️

I got the call from my sister that my best friends husband was gone (he was a cop in their town and my sister is the intake nurse at the jail). I left my entire buggy full of groceries sitting in the middle of the aisle and RAN to my car. Called my husband to tell him I wasn't coming home and he had to figure whatever out. I immediately hit the road and drove straight to her. I didn't even go home to pack a bag or anything. Just hit the highway and headed out of town. I didn't call her and let her know I was coming either. I just showed up and walked in. She was outside laying on the trampoline with her son and I just kicked off my shoes and climbed onto it with them and she sobbed. I had never been away from my youngest child for more than a couple hours prior to that day and I didn't go home for a week.

People could dissect this photograph in art appreciation class. This perfectly encapsulates sisterhood, unwavering love, grief. I’m so sorry for your loss. I’m so happy your mom had someone who loved her so much to help her on her hardest day.

I didn’t cry until my mom’s best friend arrived after driving 6 hours to get to my mom’s hospital room. My little sister and I flew across the country immediately and my mom’s best friend met us there less than 24hr after I called her. I didn’t cry until I saw her, and I completely fell apart SOBBING in her arms. She was the only person that I didn’t feel like I had to be strong for because my sister and I were her only focus as the rest of my family was grieving. It’s been over 14 years and she’s still my Auntie and wants to know everything about my sister and I.
