@moyinsade: One lesson I’ve learnt as a tailor is the importance of having a good portfolio. A good portfolio allows your work to speak for you. It showcases your creativity and gives people a glimpse of what you can do. But guess what? I’ve been sewing for a while, yet I barely documented my work. I would sew an outfit and move on without taking pictures or asking the person wearing it to send me pictures. Now that I’m learning the business side of fashion, I’m beginning to implement what I’ve learnt. My VA skills, research skills, Excel skills, basic video editing and social media management skills are all skills I can apply to building my fashion brand. Because knowing how to sew alone cannot build the brand I envision. I need to understand the business, document my work, research my market, and learn how to position my products. So, here’s one of my works. I’m learning to document the journey, build my portfolio, and put the skills I’ve acquired to work as I build Ms’Fike.
