You have a backup router, not a backup internet. I would invest in a decent router. Looks like you’re already using tplink. Omada everywhere would be a decent SMB network solution. You need 2 separate ISP connections going into a router with at least 2 WAN ports. Configure the router to have a primary/secondary(failover) or you can do load balancing if the router is capable. Never have 2 separate WiFi networks broadcasting the same SSID. You are bound to have connectivity issues if you need to connect a printer via network. Go with tplink Omada and you’ll be able to have managed handoffs for devices. Everyone starts somewhere and by no means am I trying to insult you, just trying to help. Cheers and happy networking!

you do not want 2 devices that are not centrally configured to have the same ssid.

starlink is better as a backup

So the strongest SSID just shows up and you only have to manage one id and password? That’s cool.

Yikes, I had to play this 3x. There is a better way (unifi) (WAN1 & WAN2) and that’s it. But if your way works for them it’s a win

Clean all that up. Get router that has failover built in. UniFi works well.

I know a company that charges the customer for a 4g failover every month but doesn’t pay the Verizon bill. There is probably about 100 locations that the failovers don’t work because of this. Then when the primary goes out they make up some dumb excuse why the failover isn’t working

I can’t wait until I pocket around $640k so I can build stores that have dedicated “server rooms”, literally a walk -in closet.

And they need a new rack. That one is packed. No ventilation at all. They need to go up to a 6U at least

This setup will work but I deploy a fully managed failover solution where the entire business fails over instead of certain devices. Then you can control which things can use the failover connection through the managed router.

Wow. A hackers paradise. Why not put in a real firewall configure one port for primary a second port for secondary and a third port for LAN. Hell you could even load balance if everything is configured correctly. You have a lot to learn. Stop listening to ChatGPT.
