As a European, let me say this: The quality of life definitely is higher here. But: the feeling of opportunity, freedom and positivity is truly unique in the US. It really does something to you when you are young. Tourists won‘t feel it so quickly, but Europe has a way of „being“ that truly haunts you with negativity after a while. And I say this as a progressive that dislikes the US on so many levels.
