@pcd2025: #fypviralシ #henrynowak💙💙 #kirankaur #deportation #update The mother of convicted murderer Vickrum Digwa could be released from prison early and deported to India after being jailed for concealing the knife used to kill 18-year-old student Henry Nowak. Kiran Kaur, 53, is serving a three. year prison sentence for assisting an offender after hiding the murder weapon used by her son in the fatal stabbing in Southampton last December. Kaur, an Indian national who has lived in the UK for almost 30 years, has reportedly been issued with a Deportation Liability Notice while serving her sentence at HMP Bronzefield in Surrey. The notice means she faces possible removal from the UK following her release, although she has the opportunity to make representations to the Home Office challenging deportation. Reports suggest she could be released before the end of the year, depending on the applicable early-release arrangements. Student murdered while walking home Henry Nowak, an 18-year-old first-year finance student, was fatally stabbed in Southampton in December 2025. His killer, Vickrum Digwa, attacked him with a large Sikh dagger before falsely claiming that Henry had subjected him to racist abuse and assaulted him. Following the stabbing, Kaur arrived at the scene and removed the knife used in the attack. She took it home and concealed it among a collection of ceremonial and other weapons in her sons' bedroom. She was subsequently arrested after investigators established what had happened. When sentencing her at Southampton Crown Court in July, Judge William Mousley KC strongly criticised her decision to protect her son rather than assist the police investigation. He told her: “A responsible parent would have challenged their son over their actions and encouraged them to do the right thing. “Instead, you took the knife home and put it with a larger collection of ceremonial and other weapons in your sons’ bedroom. “That would have helped to conceal what it had been used for. “This was because you wanted him to avoid being caught.” The judge also acknowledged Kaur's personal circumstances, including her long residence in Britain, health problems and ties to the Sikh community. He warned that she could face considerable changes to her life and living arrangements following her release. Home Office confirms position on foreign offenders Kaur has been held in custody since December 2025, and reports suggest she could become eligible for early release after serving the required proportion of her sentence. Responding to the case, a Home Office spokesperson said: “Our thoughts remain with the family and friends of Henry Nowak, whose life was cruelly cut short in a horrific act of violence. “We will always seek to deport foreign criminals at the first opportunity.” Kaur remains in prison, while her son Vickrum Digwa is serving his life sentence at HMP Frankland in County Durham.
