If there would be consequences, they wouldn't actually be proud anyway. not the kind you are looking for. They might brag to others. But if they want a penny of it, they are also envious and resentful. My kid is making bank. I would still never dream of charging her rent, utilities or even groceries. Because I WANT her here as long as she is happy here. I am proud she is earning and proud she is saving.
