@thesandragonzalez: A publisher would pay me about $1.50 a book. So I’m not asking one. But I want to be honest, because going your own way isn’t free either. With a publisher They pay you an advance before the book even comes out Editing, cover and printing are done for you Your book can end up in real bookstores It’s easier to be taken seriously – Most only read your book if an agent sends it in – It can take a year or two before it’s out – You get around 10% of the price – They often decide the cover, title and price On your own (Amazon KDP) 60% of the price, minus printing Free to start You decide everything You can be out in weeks – No money up front – Editing, cover and design are on you – Hard to get into physical bookstores – Nobody sells it for you. You have to find your readers. I’m doing it myself because I don’t want to wait for someone to pick me. My planner comes out November 11. What’s the book you’ve been sitting on? 👇 Day 15 of 120. Goal: $12,000 in 120 days. #selfpublishing #amazonkdp #120days #BookTok
