@donaldjackson6342: Celebrities Who Almost Starred in the Iconic Twilight Franchise Revealed The iconic Twilight franchise launched Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, and Taylor Lautner into global superstardom, but several other well-known actors were almost cast in the lead roles. Before Kristen Stewart was cast as Bella Swan, several high-profile actresses were considered for the role. Jennifer Lawrence revealed she auditioned for the film but was turned down immediately, later noting that watching the franchise's massive success almost made her decline her role in The Hunger Games. Author Stephenie Meyer originally envisioned Emily Browning as her ideal choice for Bella, but the actress declined to audition because she was reconsidering her acting career at the time. Other actresses considered for Bella included Lily Collins, Danielle Panabaker, Elliot Page, and the late Michelle Trachtenberg, who ultimately missed out due to scheduling conflicts. For the role of Edward Cullen, director Catherine Hardwicke narrowed the final choices down to four actors before casting Robert Pattinson. Among those top candidates were Shiloh Fernandez, Jackson Rathbone—who was later cast as Jasper Hale—and Ben Barnes. Former Drake and Josh star Josh Peck also submitted an audition tape for Edward and was told by his manager that he reached the final shortlist. Additionally, Stephenie Meyer originally envisioned Henry Cavill as her ideal Edward, though Cavill never officially auditioned. The role of Jacob Black also saw competition before Taylor Lautner secured the part. Teen Wolf star Tyler Posey revealed he auditioned for Jacob, while Michael Copon was briefly considered when filmmakers evaluated recasting the role for the sequel, New Moon.
