@footballfanpage886: 🚨🎙️ Vinícius Jr. on his conversation with José Mourinho before being substituted: Reporter: There was a moment when you were caught on camera speaking to Mourinho before coming off. What was that conversation about? Vinícius: Honestly, it was a very intense game. We were losing 3-1, and I looked at the bench, looked at the situation, and started thinking about what the team needed. I knew I wasn’t having my best game, and of course, nobody wants to be substituted. But at some point, you have to stop thinking about your own happiness and start thinking about what can help the team win. After reading the game, I went straight to Mourinho to discuss something with him. Reporter: What exactly did you say to him? Vinícius: (laughs) I told him, “Hey, boss, what do you think about bringing Endrick on for me?” He looked at me like, “Why are you saying this?” (laughs) I told him not to worry about taking me off because Endrick had been looking incredibly sharp in training, and I genuinely believed he could change the game. Mourinho immediately hugged me and thanked me for the advice. He brought Endrick on, and when that boy scored that header, you should have seen what happened. He ran straight towards me, pointing at me, saying, “You did this!” That moment meant a lot to me. After the game, Mourinho appreciated what I had done, and honestly, that means more to me than people realize. Listen, I love playing football. I want to be on the pitch every minute, but if there’s someone on that bench who can come on and help my team win, I have no problem sitting down. We came back to win, Endrick scored, and he even walked away with the Man of the Match award. That’s what matters to me. Football is not about protecting your place in the team. It’s about doing whatever it takes to help your team win. ❤️🤍
