@offenceregister: He left the dog with no food or outdoor access. 👇 FULL CASE DETAILS BELOW 👇 A 24-year-old Peterhead man who abandoned his husky-type dog inside a squalid flat for around a week with only toilet water to drink has been placed under supervision and banned from keeping animals. Peterhead Sheriff Court heard that Sean Stewart, of Peterhead, Aberdeenshire, left his dog, Tess, locked inside a property on 26 September 2024 without returning. Acting on public concerns, Scottish SPCA inspectors and police forced entry on 2 October. Officers discovered the home littered with chewed items, scattered rubbish, and several days' worth of accumulating urine and faeces. Tess had no outdoor access, no fresh food, and her sole source of hydration was drinking straight from the toilet bowl. Scottish SPCA officers seized the dog, leaving calling cards that Stewart ignored for six days. When inspectors revisited on 10 October, Stewart had made zero effort to clear the filth. Stewart admitted causing the animal unnecessary suffering, distress, and fear. Sheriff Robert McDonald sentenced Stewart to a one-year supervision order and banned him from owning or keeping animals for five years.
