@lumn.app: 1) Bernadette looks like she's sleeping she's the girl who saw Our Lady 18 times at Lourdes in 1858. she died in 1879 at 35, in a convent in Nevers, France. her tomb was opened in 1909, again in 1919, and a last time in 1925, and every time doctors found her body whole. her face and hands were covered with thin wax masks in 1925 because her skin had darkened, but the body under them is hers. she still lies in a glass case in the chapel in Nevers, and people walk past her every day. 2) Catherine Labouré's eyes were still blue in 1830 Our Lady appeared to her in a chapel in Paris and asked her to have a medal made. that's the Miraculous Medal, and millions of Catholics wear it today. Catherine kept it a secret for 46 years and died in 1876. when they opened her coffin in 1933, 56 years later, her body was intact and the sisters said her eyes were still blue. she lies in the same chapel where Mary appeared to her, on Rue du Bac in Paris. 3) Zita has been in Lucca for 750 years Zita was a maid. she worked for one family in Lucca, Italy, from age 12 until she died in 1272, and she kept giving her own food to the poor. when her body was dug up in 1580 it was found whole. it's dark and dried now, but it's still there, in the church of San Frediano, and you can stand right next to it. she's the patron saint of maids and of anyone who's lost their keys. 4) the saint of impossible causes never decayed St. Rita married a violent man when she was young. he was murdered, then both her sons died, and after that she spent 40 years as a nun in Cascia, Italy. she died in 1457, and her body was never buried in the ground. it still lies in the basilica in Cascia, and thousands of pilgrims come every year to ask her for the things that feel impossible. 5) Cecilia was found whole after 1,300 years Cecilia was martyred in Rome around the year 230. in 1599 her tomb was opened, and witnesses said she lay on her side exactly as she died, with three fingers on one hand and one on the other, for the Trinity. a sculptor named Stefano Maderno carved her just as he saw her. that statue is still under the altar of her church in Trastevere, Rome. one thing most people don't know: the Church doesn't count a body that doesn't decay as a miracle for making someone a saint. what makes a saint is how they lived. and none of them were born saints. they fought the same sins we do, every single day. i use an app called Lumn for that. it gives you a challenge a day for the sin you fall into most, like the one on the last slide, and the first 7 days are free. which of these 5 would you go see first? comment the number 👇 #bible #prayer #LoveGod #christiantiktok
