thank you i needed this. i was breaking down and feeling so suicidal over this 1.5 year job search and feeling so stuck. it's impacting our survival, whether we can eat or not. when you've tried everything absolutely everything and put hours everyday towards resume fixing, project fixing, portfolio fixing, applying, emailing, making sure everything is ATS friendly, networking tips, joining groups, literally everything. been neglecting myself. depressed. humiliated. i think im gonna take a break. thank you for your kindness on this.

Just to add more to the perspective, it's not just the unemployed applying for these jobs but people looking to get away from their current jobs. So the odds are really stacked against you.

Yep, I gave up. Laid off in September 2024. Countless interviews processes, job offers pulled, and ghosted more times than I can count. I found a part-time job at a retail store that offers benefits, consulting where I can get it, pet sitting, and various other side gigs. I never get time off but I still have my house. This market sucks.

I feel defeated. My son graduated in May 2026 and, despite applying everywhere from major companies to a laundromat, he still hasn’t found a job. He’s 24, earned a degree, and graduated at the top of his class. Watching him feel so discouraged is heartbreaking.

Been looking for a job for 3 years, got into 2 jobs that I barely get hours in, having to go through bs from one of them and still going on job interviews looking....and continously getting denied. I cant gain experience cuz no one is hiring me and some jobs I cant get cuz I have no license cuz im visually impared....its a struggle but im trying, we are all trying, just wish the big bosses would understand completely...

I got a job offer and SO many people told me to not take it bc the company is such a fucking mess. Ugh. Damned if we do, damned if we don’t but I swear to fucking god someone said it’s easier to get a job employed rather than unemployed
