❤️ **NO ONE BELONGS TO ANYONE — LOVE IS NOT CONTROL** ❤️ Sometimes my mind is full of thoughts, and I feel the need to write. Sometimes I write because something is bothering me, something I have experienced, or something I see happening in this world. Other times, I sing. It doesn't matter how I express myself. What matters is that I let those feelings out. Because I know I'm not the only one who has suffered. There are women and men out there who have endured abuse, heartbreak, fear, and relationships that nearly destroyed them. Some people spend years trying to find the courage to leave. Sometimes leaving feels more frightening than staying because you don't know what tomorrow will bring. But sometimes you have to make a decision that could save your life. I made my decision. I took my chances, faced my fears, and got out. Today, I am alive. I have another chance at life, and I am grateful for that. Prayer gave me strength, but I also had to take action. I couldn't keep praying for a different life while remaining in a situation that was hurting me. Sometimes God gives us the strength to open the door, but we must find the courage to walk through it. **YOU DO NOT HAVE TO STAY WHERE YOU ARE BEING ABUSED.** It doesn't matter if you are married. It doesn't matter if you have children. Your children deserve to grow up understanding that love is not violence, that respect is not fear, and that nobody has the right to hurt another person. And let's be honest: abuse is not exclusive to men. Women can abuse men, too. Nobody deserves to be hit, humiliated, threatened, or controlled. NO MEANS NO. I will say it once. I will say it twice. I will say it three times if I have to: **NO MEANS NO!** Marriage does not give anyone ownership over another person's body. Being someone's husband or wife does not mean you are entitled to intimacy whenever you want it. Love requires willingness, consent, respect, and understanding. Forced intimacy is not love. It is a violation. Some people grew up watching their fathers hurt their mothers. Others grew up surrounded by violence and learned to believe that controlling a partner was normal. But just because you witnessed something growing up does not mean you have to repeat it. You can break that cycle. A woman is not your possession. A man is not your possession. We are human beings with hearts, feelings, fears, dreams, and dignity. If you want someone to stay beside you, give them a reason to feel safe beside you. If you want to be loved, learn how to love. If you want loyalty, be loyal. If you want respect, give respect. Love is not about controlling how someone dresses, who they speak to, where they go, or what they think. Love is not about making someone afraid of losing you. Love is about creating a relationship where neither person has to lose themselves to keep the other. And please, never allow insecurity to convince you that you are unworthy of love. Every woman has something special within her, and every man has something special within him. We all have imperfections, histories, and wounds. The right person will not demand that you become someone else to deserve their affection. Focus on your healing. Focus on your dreams. Focus on what you want to accomplish. Don't allow the pain of yesterday to steal every possibility of tomorrow. Depression and emotional pain are real, and sometimes healing requires support, patience, and professional help. You don't have to fight every battle alone. And to those who have been forced into marriages or pressured into loving someone they never chose: your feelings matter. Marriage should never mean surrendering your right to make decisions about your own body or your own life. Two people can share a home and still feel miles apart. They can share a bed without sharing understanding. They can say, “I love you,” without knowing how to demonstrate it. But a real partnership requires communication, cooperation, trust, tenderness, and accountability. #fypツ — *Adelaida Sobrado* ❤️
