the free windows defender antivirus everyone knows got renamed to the security app in windows 11 and now Microsoft is using the defender name in a new cross platform product called Microsoft defender which is essentially a rivalry to all in one protection suites like Norton360 it has a basic free plan but to get all the advanced features on multiple platforms like mobile desktop etc you gotta pay a subscription for things like identity theft protection, phishing prevention and anti virus and content blocking. tldr it's not what you think it is

It’s literally the most useless antivirus, especially for somebody savvy enough to use Linux
