@christies_inc: Sold! 🔨 David Hockney’s tender portrait of his beloved dachshund, Dog Painting 17, has achieved over £3.5 million at Christie’s London. The work captures Stanley with the warmth, humour and saturated colour that define Hockney’s late style. The dachshunds were his constant companions in his Los Angeles studio, and he painted them again and again in an intimate series of portraits, illustrating his affection for them. The work was sold at Christie’s London during the 20th & 21st Century: London Evening Sale.
