↓ Feet or ankles always feeling stiff, weak or sore? __ A lot of athletes go straight to stretching when their ankles feel restricted. But mobility isn’t just about how far a joint can move. It’s also about whether you can control and create force through that range. If the foot and ankle aren’t strong enough to deal with running, jumping or changing direction, constantly stretching them probably won’t solve much. A few things I’d focus on: 1️⃣ Own the movement Slow the exercise down and make the foot and ankle actually control the position. Less momentum. More intent. 2️⃣ Strengthen the ranges you have Don’t just chase extra mobility. Use calf raises, foot strength work and loaded movements to make the range you already have stronger and more useful. 3️⃣ Make stability more demanding Running and sport don’t happen with both feet planted perfectly on the floor. Use single-leg work, different directions and eventually more reactive exercises to challenge how well the foot responds. And once you’ve built that base? Start adding speed, impact and plyometrics so the ankle is prepared for what you actually want it to do. Mobility is useful. But strong, controllable mobility is far more valuable. __ 💻 If you keep resting, stretching and restarting every time something flares up, you probably don’t need another random exercise. You need a clear plan that builds you back towards your training or sport.
