My husband was looking up how the mechanism works (youtube) & was explaining this exact thing to me. He's not wrong, there's just something that malfunctioned that's he's not thinking of. the amount of force to push that up, would be like lifting a car

At the end of the day you’re getting on that thing at your own risk. You don’t realize how dangerous roller coasters are until somebody dies and they start talking about it. You know this could happen before you even get on. You’re taking that chance. But because it only happens every once in a while. You don’t believe that it’s gonna happen to you.

The explanation of this he redundancy mechanism isn’t quite right. It only takes one gear and pin to secure the restraint, the redundancy gear and pin is there incase the first one fails.

Anything that’s mechanical can fail at any time. As a mechanic I would never get on a roller coaster.

The ride cannot be sent off unless all the lap bars are locked. I know because I also operated rides. There are so many safety features, roller coaster are more safe than driving a car or flying in an airplane

This feels a bit overstated. Everyone would have to be the same size in order for you to say that if the ride locks, the person is perfectly restrained. A child and an adult can get the same exact amount of locking with three clicks minimum but obviously, both would not be the same level of secure.

but my thing is one whole row is connected so if one person get up everybody restraints unlock because i been to six flags over georgia multiple times and the restraints are all on the same lock on any row
