While it’s an absolute banger of an idea, but at this time it’s not feasible. Your timeframe is too tight. (Also, if your case is metal, powder coat would be more durable and less prone to getting scratches)

mod podge fabric to it. or spray paint, then acrylic-i bet you already have, but spray a sealant over it
