A lot of people have been asking me how to attend the Canadian job fair in France and Belgium, so I'm going to explain everything step by step. I moved from Germany to Canada through a New Brunswick international recruitment event three years ago, and I want to share how the process worked for me. STEP 1: FIND THE OFFICIAL JOB FAIR WEBSITE The first thing you need to do is visit the Government of New Brunswick's official website. Look for the international recruitment events section. You'll see the upcoming events, dates, countries and registration links. The upcoming Destination New Brunswick event is scheduled for November 26 to December 7, 2026, in France and Belgium. STEP 2: CHECK THE OCCUPATIONS Before registering, check whether employers are recruiting for your occupation. Canada uses something called the NOC code. Find your occupation and confirm that your work experience and qualifications match the positions employers are looking to fill. STEP 3: REGISTER FOR THE EVENT Click the official registration link and complete the application. Provide accurate personal information, your work experience, qualifications and any other details requested. Make sure you use an email address you check regularly. STEP 4: WAIT FOR AN INVITATION Now, this is very important. Registering for the event does not automatically mean you've been invited. If you're selected, you'll receive further instructions by email. Keep checking your inbox and spam folder. STEP 5: ATTEND THE JOB FAIR If you receive an invitation, follow the instructions in your email. The organizer will provide the details you need, including where and when you're expected to attend. Prepare your CV, qualifications and any documents requested. Be ready to speak with recruiters and employers about your work experience. STEP 6: SECURE A JOB OFFER Attending a job fair doesn't automatically mean you'll get a job. But if an employer is interested in you, you may be contacted for further interviews or offered employment. If you're successful, you can return home and continue the next steps with your employer or recruiter. STEP 7: UNDERSTAND YOUR IMMIGRATION PATHWAY Now, this is where I'll explain my own experience. I got my job opportunity through the New Brunswick international recruitment event, but my immigration application was through Prince Edward Island. I applied under the PEI Occupations in Demand stream. The immigration pathway available to you will depend on your employer, occupation, province and eligibility. STEP 8: SUBMIT AN EXPRESSION OF INTEREST For my own application, I submitted an Expression of Interest, also called an EOI, to Prince Edward Island. I was selected and received an Invitation to Apply, also called an ITA. After that, I submitted the required provincial application and supporting documents. STEP 9: RECEIVE YOUR PROVINCIAL NOMINATION My application was approved, and I received my provincial nomination certificate and a work permit support letter. These documents helped me move forward with the federal immigration process. STEP 10: APPLY FOR YOUR WORK PERMIT AND PERMANENT RESIDENCE I submitted my work permit application, and it was approved within two weeks. At the same time, I also submitted my permanent residence application. Please understand that this was my own processing timeline. Yours could be different. STEP 11: TRAVEL TO CANADA After my work permit was approved, I travelled to Canada and started working. Six months after arriving in Canada, I became a permanent resident. And that was how I moved from Germany to Canada through a job fair. One thing I want you to understand is that attending a recruitment event is an opportunity to connect with employers. It is not a guarantee of employment or immigration approval. Do your research, use the official government website, and make sure you qualify for the pathway you're applying under. All the best, and I genuinely wish you success! 🇨🇦❤️ #canada_life🇨🇦 #germany #germanytiktok #canadatiktok #nigeriantiktok🇳🇬
