🇰🇭 One thing I notice a lot, even in my own comment section, is people using the term “Scambodia.” I find that really regrettable. Yes, there are scam operations in Cambodia, and there are also scam operations in other parts of Southeast Asia, including Myanmar and Laos, with recruitment happening through places like Thailand. It’s horrific, and it’s something authorities are trying to clamp down on. But I still think it’s unfair when people use that one issue to define an entire country. Personally, I’ve never been scammed in Cambodia, and I hope that continues. There are also people who still imagine Cambodia as some kind of backwater country with no infrastructure, no proper plumbing, or very little modern life. But that isn’t what I see. Phnom Penh is a good-sized city with a lot of amenities. Some parts are a little rough around the edges, but I actually like that. In many ways, I find life here more convenient than in the West. Cambodia is still improving, and I think it is an up-and-coming country. I really hope that continues, because I honestly think Cambodia could experience a boom, and I hope that growth benefits the average Cambodian person. Even some of the roads here put cities like Montreal to shame. Montreal is known for its potholes, so sometimes Cambodia surprises me in ways people outside the country probably wouldn’t expect. I’ve also seen a strong sense of hope here — hope for children, hope for the future, hope for growth, and hope for prosperity. I’m not an expert, and I’m only speaking from what I’ve personally seen and experienced, but what I’m beginning to witness in Cambodia is a real sense of optimism. I hope that optimism continues to grow and helps Cambodia keep building toward the future. 🇰🇭❤️ Watch full video here 👉🏾https://youtu.be/ulVgPeIjnV8?si=AU4DIaMZb99yyKrE
