@anastasiabeautyfascia: Everyone is talking about the sternocleidomastoid (SCM) lately, and I’m so happy to see it! 🤍 It’s one of the important neck muscles I regularly recommend working with, especially when addressing neck tension, head posture and facial asymmetry. But please remember, your SCM is not the only muscle that matters. Your neck has multiple layers of muscles and connective tissue working together. Relaxing just one muscle won’t address the entire pattern of tension. And I know many of you have told me, “I can’t even find my SCM!” 😅 Try this tutorial while lying down. Let your head relax completely so you’re not constantly recruiting your neck muscles to hold it up. This may make it easier to identify and gently work with the SCM. Remember to keep the pressure light and avoid pressing into the front of your neck. Send this to that friend who insists they don’t have an SCM at all! 😂 And follow me for more anatomy-based facial and neck techniques.
