I'm not sure why it's so difficult for some people to realize that making public appearances that you choose to attend under the knowledge that you will be heavily photographed doesn't negate you asking for privacy when it comes to your personal lives especially around your very young children.

People have trouble making the distinction between wanting privacy and wanting to withdraw from public life. Those are two very different things. Harry and Meghan never announced that they intended to disappear from public view, stop giving interviews, abandon charitable work, or cease being public figures. Their stated objectives were to gain greater control over their personal lives, protect their family from intrusive media coverage, and become financially independent while continuing public-facing work. In fact, their original January 2020 announcement explicitly envisioned maintaining a public role, not abandoning one.

The part that always astounded me was how everyone kept real quiet when they discussed how she was having suicidal thoughts to the point that Harry was afraid that if she didn’t go to an event with him that he wasn’t sure she’d be there when he got back. Like my god that was very quickly swept aside for the ‘privacy’ conversation
