Here’s the funny part, the multiple decades where no one knew what an old fashioned was, Wisconsin was drinking them. It’s really annoying when people tell me how to make a proper old fashioned when they just learned what they were in the last 8 years. Respect the culture of a Wisconsin old fashioned. Grandmas in Manitowoc have been drinking them since before many of us were born.

fun fact!! Wisconsin style old fashioned was born during prohibition when liquor was being distilled in bathtubs and basements so the muddled fruit and sweet soda helped disguise the absolutely terrible flavor of the liquor
