The fact that this show went so out of its way to hide what it as about before release, the fact that it’s todrick hall like we don’t know who he is and what he’s about, Hall in people’s comments, and that both Chapek and Scooter Braun are producers…. It’s all just a mess. I’ve seen nothing but praise about the talent on stage. The issue is just EVERYTHING else

Right, the subject isn’t for me to analyze, but I do think it’s very strange (unprofessional) that said writer, director, lead actor is in everyone’s TikTok comment sections. It feels very juvenile to engage, and it also seems intimidating to have the creator of the work talk back or shade you after sharing your opinion of the work. I think he needs to get offline if he aspires to become a serious commercial director or writer.

Looked up the list of producers, and they all seem to be middle aged white billionaires...... which makes perfect sense.

craziest part of this to me is that when she was like 11 my baby sister wanted to write a musical about slaves escaping and she named the main character after Todrick Hall and i said thats crazy, but 9 years later i see maybe it wasnt so crazy after all, she shouldve kept trying
