The BEST piece of advice I was given was a girl in the change room at AE, if you find one pair that are just off, grab the SAME pair- SAME size and they will probably fit. Different sewers at the factory.

Oh my gosh this very issue is the bane of my existance. 😆 for the past 8 years Old Navy has done me right for my apron belly, size 16 or 18, 5’10 curvy body. I have proportionate legs so never need a tall. However, 2 months ago to size up I bought an 18, high waisted barrel cut. When I tell you when I buttoned them I had an almost painful overflow, the ass was baggy, and I was stepping on the hem. I just took it as a one off fit but it made no sense! I even grabbed another pair, same cut/style/size in a lighter rinse. Fit great but again, too long. 🤪
