Hi family, 💕 I wanted to touch on joy today and share something I think many of us experience but don’t always talk about. Today, after spending a beautiful day out with my family, I came home, got the babies down for their naps, and suddenly felt this unexpected wave of sadness. Nothing had gone wrong, yet there I was, feeling sad. In that moment, I felt reminded of how many of us experience these seemingly random waves of sadness, and I wanted to share something the Holy Spirit has been teaching me. Joy is a fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23), and it’s so much deeper than happiness. Happiness often depends on what’s happening around us, but joy is something God cultivates within us. It’s what allows us to remain rooted in His goodness, even when life feels heavy. We can grieve and still have joy. We can feel lonely and still have joy. We can walk through difficult seasons and still find reasons to rejoice, not because everything is perfect, but because we know Who walks beside us. **“Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning.” — Psalm 30:5 ** I want to remind you that it’s okay to be sad. It’s okay to cry. You don’t have to pretend to be happy to have the joy of the Lord. Bring those feelings to God. Lay them at the feet of Jesus and allow the Holy Spirit to comfort you through them. And even if you cry yourself to sleep tonight, remember that His mercies are new every single morning (Lamentations 3:22-23). Joy isn’t the absence of sadness. It’s the presence of hope in the middle of it. 🌿 I love you all. Remember, you are seen, you are loved, and you are never alone. 💕
