Well…my grandma, may she rest in peace tried to have the lesbian removed from my aunt by going to many curanderas. After countless curanderas, I am happy to report she is still lesbian. This was over 30 yrs ago.

Everyone should read “bless me Ultima” by Rudolfo Anaya. It is about a town curandera teaching a young boy the ways of the blessings. Classic Chicano novel

This reminds me of Rodolfo Anaya’s novel Bless Me Ultima! La Grande, la curandera o la bruja?

One Nana put a broken egg and a cross in a cup under my crib and smoke with feathers to stop the croup, My other Nana used to rub olive oil on my tummy so gas would release and I could go to the bathroom, Vicks when the flu hits with some weird tea I had to inhale with a hot towel over my head as I breathed in whatever with prayer over and over, always woke up feeling so much better 🤷🏼♀️

🤣🤣🤣 this brought back so many memories. My Grandma was a curandera. I didn’t realize how far her reach was until as a teenager I was at a house party in another city and while in the kitchen, there was a list of emergency numbers near the phone and there was my Grandma’s number. 😂😂😂

I had a serious scare when I had a baby that was nursing, my aunt told me to express some of the milk before I fed the baby because the scare did something to the milk..😳

I’m not going to lie, many of those things worked. I do the egg thing on my grandkids and it hasn’t failed yet. Massages especially around my stomach have worked too. Thank you Amah.
