The Florida Athletic Commission enforces specific pre-licensing and pre-match medical requirements for participants in boxing, kickboxing, and mixed martial arts (MMA). General Participant Requirements (Boxing, Kickboxing, and MMA) • Minimum Age: 18 years old. • Pre-Match Physical: A physical examination conducted by a licensed M.D. or D.O. (on Form DBPR FSBC 20) at the time of the weigh-in, certifying physical fitness for the match. • Laboratory Blood Tests: Negative results valid for within 1 year for: • Hepatitis B surface antigen • Hepatitis C antibody • Rapid HIV test • Dilated Eye Exam: An ophthalmological/optometrist dilated eye examination (on Form BPR-0009-665) completed within 1 year. • Female Participants: A pregnancy test administered at the weigh-in.
