@chapman_news: Anaheim renters have a new way to report landlords who seek to evict them without a qualifying reason. The city’s Tenant Reporting Program launches this month, while some landlords argue state tenant protections make it harder to manage rising costs and problem renters. YES rent laws are important! AND where is the accountability for landlords and property managers? Who holds them responsible when they neglect maintenance, break promises, aren’t available during their own posted office hours, or treat residents poorly? We pay rent expecting clean, maintained common areas and amenities that are properly cared for, yet too often those things are neglected because management knows there are little to no consequences. Tenants are expected to follow the rules, pay on time, and face consequences when they don’t. Why isn’t that same accountability expected of landlords and property managers? We deserve more than just a roof over our heads. We deserve safe, clean, well-maintained homes and management that actually does its job.

There's different variables causing these rent prices to be extremely high but the main CORE of the problem is 100% GREED. Especially after Covid, the wealthy cant get enough

It happened to me and I just gave up and went into a shelter. Now I don’t have to pay rent. This happened to me in Fullerton CA they kept raising the rent in a low income apartment. Nope I’m not doing it anymore I’m tired of it.

We need one that tracks HOAs too! They increase their fees and don't actually do anything in their charter.
