@newsonice: Katie Zacharia is facing questions after her first White House press briefing drew attention for its short length and limited exchange with reporters. Now, she’s explaining why the debut didn’t go as planned. In a follow-up interview, Zacharia pointed to the timing of her preparation, saying she received the briefing materials on Monday and Tuesday as she addressed questions about her performance. Her first briefing on October 13 lasted roughly 14 minutes, with reporters raising questions about her readiness for the role, her responses to policy issues and her background.
